As a senior member of the Treasury department you will have 10+ years of relevant experience working in leadership role in a banking, cash and debt management, treasury environment.
Reporting to the Treasurer, you will have direct oversight and responsibility of BC Hydro’s enterprise wide cash management, banking and capital market activities.
You will be responsible for leading a small team managing BC Hydro’s cash management and banking relationships and ensure the organization is appropriately funded and serviced while operating under an appropriate risk management and cost framework.
Bachelors in Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or equivalent combined with a professional certification such as a CFA or an accounting designation.
10+ years of relevant experience working in leadership role in a cash and debt management, banking, treasury environment.
You will have in depth knowledge of existing and developing treasury products, solutions and systems. Experience managing foreign exchange and interest rate portfolios and the respective risk transfer instruments.
Knowledge of banking products, nascent customer and vender payment solutions.
Expert knowledge of external and internal best practices and controls in managing operational risks associated with a Treasury environment and have a proven track record of identifying process improvements.
Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining risk management policy and good governance.
Proven leadership and communication skills and able to manage a team of professionals across functions and disciplines.
Strong understanding of the accounting treatment of the various instruments and strategies.
Strong analytical skills and experience in developing and managing stochastic models
Experience in also managing corporate credit, insurance and pensions will be considered an asset.
