B'stro is a leading interactive digital agency that develops sites, apps and full brand identities for global brands and local causes. We are looking for a smart, dedicated and solution oriented developer to become a part of our team.
As a Junior Web Developer you will spend time assisting the development team and actively developing online solutions to the limit of your capabilities. You will be partnered with a senior developer to assist with your progress, however you will also be expected to take initiative for your own advancements – with the expectations of becoming a fully fledged Web expert.
The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from a Computer Science (or relevant) degree with passion for all things Web. You will be working on both Front-End and Back-End code, switching from assisting with building full fledged websites to coding HTML emails from scratch. As such this job posting is more suitable towards a candidate with strong programming and web fundamentals, flexible and able to adapt as per what the situation calls for.
This role is an entry level position which is ideal for a candidate with an innate curiosity of how things work and want to learn and grow professionally in a fast paced agency environment.
Must be fluent in HTML and able to write nested table code by hand
Ability to translate design files into pixel-perfect HTML & CSS that works across all major browsers and devices
Experience with responsive websites and techniques
Intermediate PHP and/or ASP.Net programming skills
Intermediate MySQL and/or MsSQL skills
Strong Quality Assurance skills able to review your work and thoroughly test code
Able to document your code and programming structure in a concise and easy to understand manner.
Desirable Skills (nice to haves):
2+ years of building websites using Drupal and/or DotNetNuke
Involvement in the Drupal community (please include Drupal.org username with your application)
Experience with Responsive HTML emails
Ability to translate design files into pixel-perfect HTML emails that work across major browsers, devices and email clients
Thorough knowledge of the limitations, quirks, and latest techniques for developing HTML emails
Knowledge of version control like GIT or SVN
Able to work in an agile manner
Basic AS2/AS3 Flash knowledge.
Qualifications and Personal Skills:
Computer Science (or relevant) degree, diploma or other professional certificates.
